Visa Application Requirements:

Applications: 

One (1) signed original application –  PDF
Preferred typed (not required)

Photos: 

Three (3) 2″ x 2″ photos.  Do not bend photos.

Other Special Requirements:

• Will only accept applications within 30 days of departure
• Passport must be signed
• Title required
• PCS – Must include name of person being replaced at Post

• Applying separately?  EFMs applying separately must include the following:  1.) application as instructed above; 2.) copies of the sponsor’s:  orders listing EFMs, passport data page and visa.

Non-U.S. Citizens:

Submit the U.S. visa or a copy of Permanent Resident Card (Green Card).  Based on reciprocity, fees may apply.  Fees incurred in obtaining Official or Diplomatic visas for official travel are reimbursable on travel vouchers in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations §301-12.1 and 14 FAM 560.

Processing Time: 

5 – 7 business days (minimum)

• Submissions:  Add two (2) days if using ESC.  If mailing, add five (5) days once received at Dulles.
• If submitting less than two weeks, see Hand Carry Visa Request.

Completed Application Includes:

• Passport (signed) – remove all protective covers
• Visa application, photos, and supplemental documents, if applicable
• PCS/TDY InfoGuide
• Authorization
  • PCS – TM cable or DS-1640 – either authorization must include post of assignment, diplomatic title and all Eligible Family Members
  • TDY – Memo from Executive Office PCS/TDY InfoGuide
• Case specific documents as indicated in the PCS/TDY InfoGuide
